There was one thick cream-colored L.L. Bean cable knit sweater my Dad would always wear when he went out in the woods to chop down wood for our fireplace. It had a high crossover neckline with three wooden buttons. I can picture him now pulling the sweater over his head and slipping on some big leather boots to disappear out into the snowy woods. He may still have that sweater, it was well-made....
